First BCA J.A.M.S. Talent Show Held

CBE hosted the first BCA Jodo Shinshu Artists & Musicians Showcase (J.A.M.S.) on Jan. 10, a virtual talent show that featured some amazing young performers from our Buddhist community.

We had 23 acts, with more than 12 different BCA temples being represented, as well as several Hawaii temples and Higashi Honganji temples as well.

The show featured people singing, playing instruments and even tap dancing. We had hula dancers, hip hop, and even a full on rock band! I was so impressed with the variety of acts, and the level of talent that we have in our BCA community. I want to offer my sincere thank you to each of the amazing performers that shared their gift with us. And I want to give a special thank you to my wonderful and entertaining co-host Mike Inouye, who brought the show together and kept it fun for the viewing audience.

We had an average of about 250 people that tuned in live during the two-hour broadcast, and have received more than 1,600 views since posting the video on YouTube. Thank you all for watching and sharing the video. And in case you missed it, you can watch the entire show on the Center for Buddhist Education YouTube channel.

And, finally, I would like to express my deep gratitude to all of the generous people who donated to the event. Your thoughtful contributions will help youth members attend future events hosted by the BCA. I am so proud and honored to have had the opportunity to bring together so many talented people in our BCA family. I hope you all enjoyed the show as much as I enjoyed being a part of it. Thank you everyone.
