After becoming the Bishop, I had the BCA join the International Buddhist
Association of America, which is an organization trying to bring together all Buddhists in this country. The IBAA has initiated and organized the Vesak service at the White House these past four years, which I was privileged to participate in recently.
The IBAA, as one of its projects, created an app that shows every Buddhist church, temple, or center in the United States. It is called “BuddhaMap” and it is a free app.
Simply go to the app store on your cell phone and search “BuddhaMap.” When you open the app, you will see many Dharma wheels all over the country.
Click on one and that temple or center will appear. Click on it again and the website of that temple or center will appear. All of our BCA churches and temples are listed on this app.
We are part of many Buddhist organizations in this country, over 3,000 in total.
The BCA helped to support this project and we are shown as one of the sponsors on the app. I hope that it helps to put the BCA “on the map.”
