Campaign BCA – The 21st Century offers an opportunity to honor your loved ones through a memorial gift and ensure a future of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism for generations to come. In Januray 2005, the BCA distributed Campaign BCA – The 21st Century booklets, explaining the elements of the $30 million Capital Campaign:
• Creating a Thriving Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Ministry: Offering a more attractive career choice for potential aspirants entering the ministry.
• Establishing the New Jodo Shinshu Center of the Buddhist Churches of America: Groundbreaking was held in May 2005 and construction is almost to completion towards a beautiful new facility, dedicated to the propagation of Jodo Shinshu teachings and ministerial development. This will be the new home of the Institute of Buddhist Studies and Center for Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Studies.
• Strengthening Jodo Shinshu Buddhism as a Major Religious Tradition in America: Programs for professional development and continuing education needs of ministers, Dharma School teachers, lay leaders, BCA members and the general public.
• Enhancing Membership Outreach to the Greater Community: New and exciting programs geared for youth, expanding to college campuses and communities throughout the nation.
• Increasing Self-reliance: Upgrade and integration of information systems of BCA, Institute of Buddhist Studies, Center for Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Studies and BCA Endowment Foundation, as well as cooperative and financial assistance for local temples and Sanghas.
As of 9/30/2011, the campaign has raised
$19,412,429 in gifts and pledges from over 6,700 members and friends of the BCA. If you’ve already given to Campaign BCA – The 21st Century, please accept our heartfelt gratitude.
